I see you've left the handles on - what a pro  ;D    Some of the stalks are dead prickly aren't they.  You need gloves to pick em up  :o

I'm going to plot in  a bit to see if I have any more to pick.  I know I've left one in the car as I noticed it yesterday when I lifted the boot lid to put the shopping in  :)
I came, I saw, I composted

Hehehe  thats half the fun seeing what there is to pick, especially if they are romping through the undergrowth, you never quite know what you have got till the frosts come!
My giant atlantic has headed off into the surrounding stinging nettles so I haven't got a clue if it has any fruit or not and I am not going in there to find out! :o

Yes they can be prickly and the leaves can make me itch! Gauntletts to pick more like! ;D

Left the handles on cos I read it helps to store them better, not a pro at all.........oh err missus! :o  :o  :o  ;D

Here are the last of them, picked this morning.  I found one of them hiding in amongst the tomatoes.  Couldn't see it til I got my head in amongst the toms so it was a pleasant surprise  :)

These are Crown Prince, Marina di Chioggia, Blue Hubbard and I think (could be wrong) Grey Crown  :)

Very impressive hauls there DP & Wardy.

How stupid am I  - i thought this thread was 'Pickling Pumpkins' when i first looked at it, you'd need some bloody big jars!!! ;D
And there were gardens bright with sinuous rills,
Where blossomed many an incense-bearing tree;

You know what's happening....end of season madness is setting in!  We are like honey bees high on our bountiful harvest and it is addling our brains.

Shall we all club together for the big white van to come and take us away - ha ha-hee hee-ho ho.  ::)
