Mrs Ava

Thanks to Magpie Di who inspired me to grow these beauts!  This one is the size of a football!

Any my early sprouts are huge!  Glad to say my red ones that were munched by the catterpillars have indeed re-sprouted, so should havea  good crop for Christmas dinner!

This is for,   Kevin I think, who asked me about italian mixed leaves.  Here is my patch, sown just a few weeks back, and look how they have sprung up after the rain!

And here is just the view down to my shed from the apple trees mid way up plot number one.  You are looking down on parnsips, carrots, celery and celeriac, sprouts and leeks and other odds and sods!

What a great sight Emma.  I love green vegetables and they all look brilliant. busy_lizzie
live your days not count your years

wardy

EJ  You'll be eating cabbages into the next millenium  ;D

BTW  do you eat your celeriac foliage?  Was planning to use it, if edible, in place of celery.  Seems a shame to throw it if it can be eaten  :)
I came, I saw, I composted

They do look lovely and green and tasty to i bet  :) :)

And are you lifting celeriac yet, Emma?

Mrs Ava

I have used the leaves and stalks in soups Wardy, but the family aren't celery fans, so a little goes a long way!

I have lifted one Tim, just to see, and it was slightly smaller than a tennis ball, but others do look bigger.  I will probably lift a couple, with parsnips, carrots and swedes to make a root soup next week.

That looks really lovely and lush EJ.
