Oh sorry bad habit picked up on another forum TBH - 'To Be Honest.

BTW (By The Way) I was asking who had seen the programmes.  If you havent I am sorry you missed it.

I am watching it and yes, it's really good.  Most annoyed that I missed the Dover bit as that is the closest coastline to me.
FYI (for your info  ;D)Roy, they are walking round the coastline of Britain and some of Northern Ireland if I remember correctly, stopping off at various places of interest.  There is a historian, anthropologist and archeologist and an animalologist (can't remember what the real title is, and anyway that's a good word if it doesn't already exist).  They went into detail about the docks and ship building, whaling, the taking of the waters and sea bathing etc.
It is worth looking out for if they do a re run.  Sounds very high-brow but it is in an entertaining format without dumbing down.

I didnt miss the programme on my local coast (Dorset/'Jurassic' Coast, programme 1), but for a stretch of coastline recently designated a word heritage site (or whatever the title is), they didnt spend much time on it.

That was the one criticism. Some bits were a bit rushed in my veiw. Still, too much detail might have become boring for some veiwers.

Yes,I enjoyed it too.  I thought it was a great idea for a series. I wish too they had been able to explore places more in depth, but what I saw was fascinating.

They walked along Whitley Bay beach with St Mary's lighthouse in the background and said that miners took their holidays there in it's hey day and that now it was one of the favourite places in the country for Stag nights and Hen parties. What a great recommendation,  ::)  sad but true.

I thought it was very well done and I am sure they will repeat it sometime in the future.   :) busy_lizzie

I have to agree with that sentiment but then again if they were to do the British Coastline in the detail it deserved it would be a lifetime's work.

I've watched it all and thoroughly enjoyed it although in Chesterfield we are the town farthest away from the sea in every direction :)
