Just had to share the wonderous sight I've just witnessed:-
Local council have just passed by, gritting the road, a major bus route into the centre of London; using the up to date method of two men kicking the stuff of the back of a rubbish collection truck.

......and they want to increase council tax?
............I suppose they're making the effort!

oooooooooooo........Essex must be really technical then!  We have bright yellow lorries with a skip and a kinda sprinkler affair on the back and it sprays grit all over the road, parked cars, plants and pedestrians!  There will be no ice forming on me this evening - thats Chelmsford Council!  :-/

Want to hear a good one?

One of my local councils a couple of days a go wne tout gritting in prep for freeze. Ok fine good for them on the ball and everything.

The nicely gritted roads were then swept clean of grit by a street cleaning team a couple of hours later!

Talk about the right hand not knowing what the left was doing.

(OK to be fair I think one was county the other district, but you'd of thought there'd be some liason wouldnt you?)
