About 3 to 5 cm of snow here in Lincolnshire. Time for some hot chocolate...

It looks beautiful - thanks for sharing the photo.

Our dusting arrived late yesterday evening and, apart from one small corner of a lawn, was gone my mid morning. Not that I'm complaining!!

I hung some towels out tonight - if the foxes don't play with them I'm hoping the breeze will have dried them a little by mid afternoon tomorrow.  Roll Eyes

-10 outside, here, at 8.30am.  And only 3.3 inside, in the kitchen, BRRRRRRRRR! Then found the heating hadn't come on, overloaded some of the electricity circuit trying to heat ourselves, and the kettle, etc!  But have just been out and fed the birds.  About to eat big bowl of steaming porridge!

Just been outside ...  birdbaths frozen solid which means it's well cold.  Saw a gang of Fieldfare and redwings making light work of stripping a berry bearing tree in the front garden.  And some brass monkeys looking for welders ....

-8 here in Harrow too.  I went to feed and water the chickens and couldn't get into the allotment - the locks had frozen solid.  Eventually managed to warm one up enough to work, by which time the chooks were becoming extremely indignant!

For the first time this winter, I reckon I'll need to go back at lunchtime with fresh water to replace the iced up drinker.  No chance of the taps on site working.

-13.5C on the remote thermometre.  Must be wrong!  Actually no! - a laboratory thermometre says -13.6C at 8 in the morning!  The news just said that other locations were -16C.

This is the coldest for some years.  Don't suppose my greenhouse winter veg will survive that or the stuff under cloches  Sad  although the snow layer may just protect a bit.  We'll see ...

Another year when the PSB perishes I guess.  Hope the kales will survive.  Our weather is definitely on the change, this is the third year with very cold winter temperatures.

It was lovely on the seafront this afternoon! My son took us off for a coffee and it turned into a very late lunch / early dinner in a seafront cafe.

It was a joy to be out and about after months of looking after my parents and the first time I've been to the seafront for ages!!

Cold? Yep but better described as bracing. Lots of other people out too.

I was on the seafront at Dunbar yesterday too and that was quite delightful.

Funny thing is that it has been much warmer here in Edinburgh and there has been  virtually  no snow!!

And a positively balmy +4 here, but still had to use a sledge hammer to break up the ice on the garden pond (trying to save the frogs - lost a few under ice last year).
