Radish thinnings.
Last picking of the rhubarb I think.
Cucumber tasty King I think.  Not a prize winner, but the first!
Lollo rosso is the reddish lettuce and I think the green is biondi, but could well be wrong.
New pots - a selection, some volunteers, some Rocket, some rooster.
Broadbeans, picking them young to beat the Jays and mice!

It all looks very yummy, your Lollo Rosso looks lovely. The last time l grew a lettuce it went very spindly  :'( never bothered again, but looking at yours has given me inspiration to try again.

I've just grown endive for the first time, and it's superb with hot chopped bacon.

Mrs Ava

The cuce was started in Feb in my conservatory, then out to the heated greenhouse in March and onto the plot about 5 weeks ago under a cloche/coldframe type affair.  It is actually the roof off a greenhouse.  There are loads and loads of little fruitlets on the plant, just hope they all set!  ;D

The lettuce is doing really well on the plot this year - last year a lot bolted before we ate it so I ended up making soup with it, which was also delish!

Can't compete with Emma but - since the big F is so demanding - I must say that 2 lettuces have done us proud: Pablo - red tinge - (photo of what is left after having a meal taken from it ) - & Claremont, which last year weighed 2lb at maturity.
Compare the raised bed with a month ago!!

Thought I'd treat my self to some Sunday spuds. Naughty, but nice.

supernan

:D First spuds today, Duke of York, enough for two meals from one plant. Not a huge yeild but yummy. Had them with lettuce and rocket from my salad boxes. Wooden boxes (use deepest you can get) greengrocer chucks out, lined with plastic, filled with potting compost and vermiculite. Planted with seeds, lettuce or rocket or mixed salad, water daily and feed sometimes. Grows like crazy. Pick and come again crops.

Have made mint sauce for lamb tomorrow. Can't wait for the rest to be ready.
Supernan!!

Yesterdays harvest (sorry about the mess in the shed hehehe). Got to get the jam jars out now.
Also had some lettuce and a small cucumber.

Mrs Ava

Oh Ina!  Daughter number one would just need a bowl of sugar and those strawbs to be the happiest girl alive!  They look gorgeous!

ina

They are gorgeous EJ. How are yours coming along?

Mrs Ava

Only had a bowl full so far, but there are masses on the plants!  I think we are going to be drowning in strawbs and raspberries at about the same time!  Heaven!

ina

Another show-off picture. I went straight from work to the lottie and look what I went home with this time, only two days since the previous harvest.

BAGGY

That's soooooo unfair.  Some **** scoffed ours.  We had 'saved' them for the weekend and when we got there they had GONE !!  Not birds as they are netted.  hmmmmm
Get with the beat Baggy

ina

Huh????? What a horrible thing to happen! I wish I could give you some of mine. I am so sorry for you.
