Hi All,

I know i have left it a bit late, but will i get anything ?

They are ready to go, but are not in the ground, any point in planting ?

I think the general rule of thumb is - give it a go!  You have got nothing to lose except a bit of work getting them planted.  If you don't plant them you definately wont get anything!  A lot of the books say you plant maincrop spuds April/May.  Well we are only a week out of May and the weather has been so awful and cold that they may well catch up.

Some people can plant for new tatties at Christmas. Am thinkin gof putting in a few for then.
Planted fir apple last year. Family weren't too impressed, difficult to peel so they thought but I liked them.

My moher wants prepacked scrubed type pap. They are not impressed by real food.

Peeling. You peel - if you need to - after cooking! It just slips off.

Anybody know where might be able to get some at this late stage - or should I forget this year?

I've ended up with loads spare if you want some. I've held onto my spare PFA, Wilja and something else with the label dropped off. PM me if you want some.

Hi All,

Just to let you know that i have dug the (late planted, June 10th) Pink Fir Apples, and they were not bad at all, reasonable crop, and OK sized...

For for future reference, June is just about OK for Pink Fir Apples in the south.

Thanks for that.  It's worth knowing as I want to plant some next year 'Up North' so the frosts could be a little late.
