I harvested my first ever crop yesterday: 2 radishes. And here they are in all their glory. I'm so proud!  :) There are more, but I'll give them another week or two.

I have harvested my first strawberry which was shared between my

two children - grown in my greenhouse in half drainpipes suspended

along the length.

Shall definitely be doing this again, as it produces an early crop of

strawbs which can grow and fruit before the tomatoes take over.

Thanks for the inspiration Sprout!  Have just read your blog and I've just taken on a new lottie which is overgrown so its good to read about another newbie and see the fruits of labour!

good stuff Sprout.
had some chives freom the garden today, and some cima di rapa leaves yesterday-tasty and spicy. they were my first pickings so far. very satisfying.

Guess what!!!

We picked OUR first crop today and it was..... 2 Radishes too!!!!!!!

We had one each as a starter and they were small, crispy and very tasty!!!

Its all rather exciting, this growing lark...

Only the two of us so we had one each. But it was just like eating one of your children (only chunchier).

just remember that feeling when other things dont do so well thats gardening swings and roundabouts.
Wait untill a slug munches and you go looking for it like a loony then you know your hooked ha ha

Delicious I am sure!  Congratulations.  You are savouring that spicy freshness now....you wait...come August you will be looking for 101 things to do with radish!   ;D  Those first pickings are the best, and just think of all the other first veggie pickings you have to come! ;D ;D

I haven't harvested any thing yet :(   But on the plus side,  neither have the slugs  ;D
