Dear All, I'm trying to create a wildlife meadow, and was wondering how I get rid of the few nettles that have popped up! They're perennial nettles so will keep coming back if I cut them; and I'm sure they will spread if left  I have a big patch of "contained" nettles for the butterflies, but want this to have grasses and flowers. Thanks  Lottie

Would I cut them then? Or dig up? Have you got a recipe!!! Lottie

wardy

you cut them and chuck them in your compost heap where they will do good.  You can make nettle tea to feed your plants and you just dilute it down as it's a bit strong.  Put the leaves in water and leave for a couple of weeks.  You can eat nettle tops too.  Makes very good soup  :)
I came, I saw, I composted
