Allotments 4 All

GGRR!  Never had them in this garden.  Mum was plagued with them.  Now I have them!  They were doing the dance of love when I first spotted them, but my movements made them part company quite rapidly!  ;D

Rotten little beetles, pulled 15 off one lily yesterday! :o good pic!

hate the things i have loads of lillys in the garden and i pull of about 15 a day i feed them to the fish they love them, nice picture

The best thing about lily beetles is that they are bright red and easy to spot.

I've had them for as long as I've been growing lilies. Must remember to check mine at the weekend.

Oh and as they've been at it don't forget to look for the black goo under the leaves - it's their eggs! wipe it off and put it in boiling water.

They are the reason i dont have lillies anymore.

After reading about these pesky beetles if I see just one the lillies are definately out of my garden.. Shame I only planted them last year and I do like them.
