You can plant almost any EARLY  variety. You do need to use an early one as they will crop in fewer weeks than mid-season or late varieties which will just becoming into crop when the cold nights come and bring the mildew conditions with them. I only grow mange tout ones now and have just sown another small row.

Had the first picking from my peas tonight. Delicious! Not got many plants as they were a bit of an afterthought to fill a gap, but they are the most sucessfull pea crop I have ever had. I too have been thinking of a repeat sowing and wondering if there was still time.

I'm going to have a go with a maincrop, hopefully I'll get them sown next week. The variety is Kenobi, which according to T&M is resistant to mildew and suitable for sowing in July.
