Not seen a house fly for ages
one time they would run on my screen, buzz my face
now not a one!   strange don't you think that after
years they suddenly vanish,
watching the T/V program " DIRTY BRITAIN " you would think we had more  VERY STRANGE.

I've notice their absence too..not that I miss them. We've had few in a house but nothing like normally. I like to keep back door open to garden when ever I'm in home and usually that result of those buzzers coming in.
Perharps its been bit fresh still for them..nights have not been very warm yet and perharps our long and cold spring either halted their hatching or even reduced their numbers
We have lot of birds around here and some are nesting in our tiny garden as well as under our roof and this year we've been amazed of the them, how fearless the birds have been and almost coming inside for search of food. They forage amongst the climbers and plants all over the place...never seen them being so hard at work. Perharps the weather has not been too kind of other insects neither and in result birds are having to work long shifts and nearer to people to get the food together for their young.
It's been in papers that there has been lots of honeybee colony losses this spring..all because of the challenging weather we've had last summer and this spring. I have lost few colonies too...
I must the hard to survive if house flies are struggling...

I think they've all gone here. You can have 'em back, the dirty beggars.

We have had very few recently too, except as soon as there is some sunshine and some hot weather they seem to reappear!

And much though i hate the dirty beggars they are part of the food chain. They do feed the wild life.

If you want flies, leave cat food down and they love it.  Plenty of flies in Enfield, and cats. 

And nutters.   

Went to Billingsgate this morning and there were no flies in my house until I unpacked the fish and started gutting and filleting and then we had swarms of the ****ers.

They must have amazing sense of smell.

I hadn't noticed a single housefly until this thread - now we seem to have loads!!
