I've got one of these and I love it!

(doesn't mean my plot is weed-free in case anyone wonders, but
that's my fault, not the hoe's.)

Thank you Squash, that's another dimension to add to the conversation :icon_cheers:. I'll be at it for hours .

Hi Jannie - I have one that my son made for me.. I took photos and measurements in a GC for him to make it for me - saved 30 quid!! They are fantastic for weeding but obviously not for digging. I have an Asada hoe (typical African hoe) for digging and big hoeing jobs. Now he has made me a smaller version for small jobs..

would have to second the swoe hoe, would be lost now with out it :blob7:

Hi Gavin. We have an azada brought from Portugal, an amazing tool. Lots of jobs made easier at the plot. We have lots of horse tail & bind weed so it's whatever is best for the job. You have a very clever son :icon_cheers:.

Granny - my son plays with off-roading 4x4's and has a unit in Wilmslow near you and the guy he shares the unit with is a pro welder..  :happy7:

I bought a swoe when they were on offer, never use it.

Another vote for the Swoe here.  Very light and easy to use.

I bought a short handled speed hoe in the Wyevale sale and it is brilliant; the weeds don't stand a chance :-)

Have you tried amazon?  Put in  Haxnicks speed hoe into amazon box on this site

They look rather pricey.   You will have to get daughter to buy her own. :BangHead:

This one is slightly cheaper

There is also one on ebay but it is not clear if it is the smaller one. Definitely smaller version.

grannyjanny

I bought her a new one for Christmas 2011 Digeroo but she keeps forgetting to put mine in her car when she leaves the plot. TBH she is very busy dashing here there & everywhere. The hoe is sentimental too, Elaine gave it to to me before going to live in Portugal. I thought I would try a different type of hoe so wondered what others thought.

grannyjanny

Daughter just phoned on her way to lotty so requested my hoe. When I asked her if hers was OK she said she needs to rescue it from her OH as he pinches all the good tools we buy for her & hides them :BangHead:.
