LOOKS MORE LIKE NOVEMBER OUTSIDE.

Borlotti

Had to put the lights on whilst typing as it got so dark, but seems better now, so will put my wet walking boots on (shouldn't have left them outside) and go and pick some peas and hopefully some strawberries, more jam.  Might pick up a new box of slug pellets on the way.

Crystalmoon

It's like late Autumn here in Kent with rain, cold winds, grey sky etc etc.
We had a sunny day yesterday but it was still cold & wet overnight.
Seems like we aren't going to have clear seasons at all this year.....no wonder the fruit & veg doesn't know what to do  ::)

green lily

WET - the artichokes I didn't puddle in because they were too wet a month ago now look a bit happier... and the dahlias love it until of course they get mugged by slugs. The strawberries are just ripening but this amount of rain will make them go mouldy. None of the squash/courgette family have yet raised a single flower and the peas have masses of pods but no contents :-\

Ninnyscrops.

Same here, rain on and off. The plot is thriving but the greenhouses are sulking, just read the temp and 10 degrees at the moment, no wonder the plants can't decide what to to :(

Wishing you well Jim, watercress would seem a good option everywhere at the moment  ::)

Pescador

Got back home from the lottie this morning and the wind had blown my plastic "greenhouse" over.
One tray each of Romaine, Hispi, and summer PSB that were almost ready to plant out all ruined.
Plus sprouts, PSB and Romain, just sown on Thursday emptied on to ground as well.
The wind must have rocked the house enough to break the ties holding it  to the wall.
Now I'll have to re-sow again and I've lost 2 weeks.

I'm sure I have some watercress seeds somewhere, thanks for reminding me.

Well just for a change, it is not actually raining here but the sky is grey and it's windy.  Rain later this pm and all next week.

artichoke

I AM growing watercress! A mixture of rooted cuttings from a bought bunch, and seeds which have germinated.

When I had one of those little "greenhouses" I used the bottom shelf for about 8 bricks, to keep it stable. Didn't stop the wind eventually ripping the plastic cover to shreds, but I lost no seedlings. What a shame....

Still very windy here in East Sussex, and I fear going to plot because I actually took the bricks out of a plastic coldframe the other day and it may have flown......

jimtheworzel

big change from yesterday, no rain so far, but forcast is rain later
no floods yesterday so plot still ok but river is still high and im only 20 mtrs a way from it.

Eamon

Sligo - Rain and wind in equal measure. Expect a slugfest this evening. :(

Robert_Brenchley

Overcast but dry most of the day. Just starting to drizzle as I left the plot.

Jayb

Fairly dry and overcast this morning, rain and wind this afternoon and still chucking it down.

Been dry all day here, thank goodness. I was amazed, after the torrential rain for the last 2 days, the ground was quite dry  :o :)

Jeannine

Sunny but thunderstorms expected shortky. Still on flood alert from the river though XX Jeannine
