I hope you all have a good time whether it be pottering on your allotment, flag waving at the side of the Thames (or at the tv as I shall be!) enjoying a good street party with your neighbours or sitting in the dark under the stairs wearing your anti-royalist sex pistols t-shirt.

I don't care what the boo-yahs say, I'm going to enjoy it. She's our Queen and this is not something we'll see again in our lifetime and I love how it brings such a huge percentage of the country together with a big smile on their face.

Afternoon cream tea at my sisters on Tuesday whilst we watch the carriage procession, balcony apperance the wonderful flypast and Feu de Joie :D

I shall also be enjoying Euro12 and the Olympics! ;D ;D

My sister is off to a street party having decided she won't be arriving to see our parents this Sunday so my day is mapped out along with the rest of the week.

I guess I'll be catching snippets of the celebrations on my parents tv inbetween the washing, cooking and cleaning.

Maybe there'll be time for a quick escape to the plot if I'm lucky.  ;)

It was my Mum's 50th birthday on Coronation day so I will be a wee bit wistful tomorrow.
Dad bought us a TV, the first in our street and all the neighbours packed into the house and some looked through the windows.

PS I have a Union Jack flying off the balcony

My Dad has come up so we can ignore it together, as a family.

^^ bah humbug !!

Got some flag stuff from Poundland and will be putting it up on the plot as bird scarers.

No street party on my street, we are a miserable bunch too.

I'll be sitting on the plot, contemplating my own 60 year reign, I was born in 1952  ;D

Get together on our street on Monday billed as "a chance to meet everyone again as we've got an extra day' no mention of the queen! We used to have regular get togethers every summer but the main organiser moved and lots of new people have arrived since. We're in a cul-Dr-sac with 45 houses an
d a nice green area at the bottom end so no need to close roads.

Whoop! We are having a Jubilee party on Mon with about 30 guests. Started doing some baking last night (the things that will last) and am going to spend the whole weekend making yummy things. Have bought lots of cheesy decorations!  ;D

We will just be doing what we always do and enjoying it.Counting our blessings for the good things that have happened and trying to forget the rest.
When I get old I don't want people thinking
"What a sweet little old lady"........
                             I want em saying
"Oh Crap! Whats she up to now ?"

I had no intention of doing anything jubilee- related this weekend, but I went to my plot and was assailed by church bells ringing constantly for 2 hours, amplified music from the Social Club a few streets away, and a fly-past by (I think) the Red Arrows! I could barely hear Dermot O'Leary on my radio!

Looking forward to our street party tomorrow.

Hope you all wave our flag and take a moment to be proud of our Queen and country. ;D

This Jubilee weekend (as with every weekend and weekday through the year) I'll be looking after my parents for much of the day and every evening.

My sister continues to have "other commitments". Having been at church and (as local commissionaire for the Guides) with the Brownies this afternoon doing her bit for society, will be at a party this evening and a BBQ tomorrow before enjoying her week long holiday.

(What are "holidays"?  ??? )

Forgot...... I took early retirement so life is one long holiday for me.... I'm informed.   ::)

Wishing all who have time to notice it a Happy Jubilee Week-end.

That cake looks fun and delicious and the pics are lovely :D

I spent such a long time trapsing around town today trying to find some Jubilee bunting (I know, I left it ridiculously late, it's my own fault) and my husband was looking whilst shopping out of town - both had no luck. I think I'm an inch shorter from all the walking but ... my husband did buy me these lovely little light up union jack lanterns, now shining proudly from one of my front windows :D (I know my curtains are the wrong size but we've had new windows fitted and I'm waiting for the blinds to be delivered! :-[)

THEN ... I was telling my son about the bunting saga and he said, 'Oh my girlfriend has a whole bag of it at home, she brought it home from work'  WHAT???!!!!  :o He's going to bring me some back tomorrow, LOL.

Jubilee or no Jubilee, I think that the sight of 1,000 ships sailing along the Thames tomorrow is going to look spectacular and I'm really looking forward to seeing it :)
