Hi All,

Just had my 2nd propagator arrive (£10 voucher from survey spent) and in the seeds i have a packet of canary creeper its a plant i have seen and though was very pretty. But am a little off put by the creeper part of the name - is it one that is going to go mad in the garden??

Anyway, has anyone grown this from seed??? Is it something i can without a greenhouse??

Cam?

No - it's a gorgeous plant and won't go mad!  It's an annual - I used to grow it up a trellis, it's really pretty and easy to grow!  Might get some myself this year now!

I start them in cells in the propagator, then into the greenhouse... but way easier than Morning Glory...  :)

what a pretty plant always thought them to be   a     shrub

Yes they are easy to grow in greenhouse modules or direct sown in a couple of weeks time when things have watmed up a little more.

The seeds are very easily saved for following years too. Trouble free and very pretty they are a great climbing/scrambling addition to a garden

I grow these each year, very easy plants. I start a few off indoors then direct sow the rest later. Treat them as nasturtiums which is what they are.

have ran out of room for planting seeds but there next for planting :)

I tried to grow these from seed this year ans none have germinated sadly, only a cheep packet of Mr Fothergills seeds but still disapointed.  Maybe I planted them too deeply.

I have them ear marked for the next wave once the propagators empty again
