I always find the price of pot grow perennials in garden centres far too high for my budget.

Is it possible to grow pulmonary from seed? or will i be waiting a very long time for the plants to mature.

any thoughts?

Yes they can be grown from seeds...though..if you are after some particular variety..you might struggle with that..generally they are propagated from plant material to keep them true to type. But if you are happy with 'just' common pulmonaria there is no problem of getting hold of those seeds.
It will take couple of years before you will see flowers and they make decent size plants.
How about just getting hold of one good size plant from garden centre and dividing it into several new plants?..as long as there is bit of root attached into each piece of plant (with growing point), you can pot those pieces up and once they've produce good root system..plant them into garden. Next year this time you new plants are not much short of the size of the original plant they came from.. ;D

I think that's a good plan. If I keep my eye open for a nice bushy plant... that will get me started.

I suppose it's still a bit early so when do you think a good choice of plants will turn up in the garden centres?

Now is very good time to keep eye on..they should be flowering now and usually sold when in season.
But if you are lucky..sometimes you can buy them much cheaper when they've finished flowering..garden centres flog them off because lot of people don't buy plants unless they are looking pretty.. ::)
Plant fairs often had pulmonarias in sale..and worth keeping eye on carboots..those leaves look good on their own even without flowers and I've seen many times small pulmonaria plants being on tables.
At the moment my pulmonaria is only a small bits here and there as I divided mine not long ago..otherwise I could have offered some of mine...sorry.l

Never tried them officially, but they self seed all over our garden. Lots of different colours too, in the reds/pink/blue/white areas. They flower very quickly too and bulk up rapidly.
Gardening is the great leveller.

I accidentally snapped a shoot off my lungwort this year and stuck it in the soil opposite the mother plant about a month ago. It has now got a new leaf shoot on so maybe try cuttings, good luck.  :)

I bought some plants for50p last year after they were a bit dry and had stopped flowering at our local garden centre, this year they are much bigger plants do its worth being patient!
If it's not pouring with rain, I'm either in the garden or at the lottie! Probably still there in the rain as well TBH....🥴
