Why is it that because somebody is a little bit sensible (OR NOT) that you get volunteered to do little :-\  jobs for people. I have just done 3 hours trying to fit a carpet in the locker room of my Bowling club simply because I own a sharp knife and a pair of scissors. One of my Friend's volunteered me to do this job to the committee who thought I was the very man to do the job!! What makes it worse is that it has been a beautiful night here and could have been in my lottie!
Anyone else been volunteered by friends or family for jobs they would rather not have done? (BTW the carpet looks great, any complaints and the scissors will go where the sun don't shine!!)

Volunteer!  I don't volunteer I just get nominated as a volunteer and end up doing all sorts for folks.  I help big style with the local in bloom (knackering at times), lotty open day, gala day, take minutes and type them up for lots of local groups.  I even got volunteered to run in a fun run last May and this year I've been volunteered and in fancy dress! Why me?  I want to be left in peace on my plot  :)

I know the feeling well, both my boys used to play rugby on Sunday mornings. Guess who used to end up cooking sausage and chips for about 200 boys!!! I think that I was born with MUG written on my forehead. Never learnt to say no!!!

I volunteered to rub rust off hanging basket brackets with a wire brush and repaint them.  Then came the bad news.  There are 70 odd  :'(
