my husband works with the guy doing the research into it but he refuses to tell me the concentration that is effective!

i tried making my own, i used 5 cloves of garlic in 1 litre of water and it burnt a hole in the plastic bottle i had it in  ;D so i'm thinking that might be too strong..

tim

Maybe I won't eat it??

I make a powerful potion which is basically made of a lot of garlic (ten or so cloves, often of old garlic no longer suitable for cooking), a good sprinkling of cayenne powder, all mixed into an old (full) watering can, then left in the sun for a week or so. The resulting potion should then be strained through a sieve. I use it as preventative, cure and even as a growth stimulator. Watch which way the wind's blowing, though! This stuff reeks!

Lady of the Land

One of my allotment neighbours often puts garlic powder ( lots of it ) on his plot, quite why I am not sure. He must buy it in bulk the amount he uses.

I wondered why I kept suddenly getting a waft of garlic every so often.

It's a natural insect repellant.  You can deter fleas from your cat and dogs if you add garlic to their din dins.  It repels insects in the same way - you feed it t your plants either as cloves at the plants roots or in a diluted foliar spray
