Just watched the last eight programmes with the final tonight and my money was on Holly from Leicester, but unfortunately Joe from Essex won, well done Luv, :)

I had expected Holly to win, and I think she expected to win, but I think she was trying a bit too hard and Jo definitely deserved to win last night and was so modest about it.

I think Jo, was a worthy winner she made some lovely cakes along the way & last night excelled herself. I think Holly thought she would win from the word go little to sure  for me. Well done Jo, well deserved.

I was amazed at what they had achieved.  I thought Holly was going to win.  But part of me was pleased that Jo won.  Jo really needed the win to really boost her confidence.

I was really pleased Jo won - she came across as such a nice person and I also like the fact that the eating was more important than the presentation.

Did you see the size of the squirrel's nuts?!  :-X

Holly was the obvious winner from the off - and I'm sure she's a brilliant baker, better than I'll ever even aspire to.

But there was always Jo, who was never the obvious winner any week, but was also the one not thrown out because she hadn't made major blunders or over-reached herself. And that consistency got her the prize. Well done!

And I think Mary-Anne might be going places too, once she stops experimenting in public and gets a bit of Jo's consistency.

Isn't it good that it's been the most-watched programme on BBC2?

I've only just watched the final, I've had to put this subject on "ignore" since the thread started so as not to know who won.
At work today someone said "do you watch the Great British Bake off"

"Don't tell me the result" I shrieked!!!!- only to be shown the genetically enhanced super stud Squirel  ;D ;D ;D

Having a go at baking Foccacia this weekend after watching the master class tonight, looks to good not to give it a go, :)
