My red Morning Glory grown from last years seeds,
thought this photo looked like the morning sun in the centre of the flower,
perhaps that is why they are so-called.

How lovely.Yes it does look like the sun
When I get old I don't want people thinking
"What a sweet little old lady"........
                             I want em saying
"Oh Crap! Whats she up to now ?"

Lovely a ray of shineshine on a dull morning.

Love the colour. Just wish I could grow morning glory but have never been successful  :'(

I still think "Heavenly Blue" takes some beating...  :)

Lovely flowers - I'm growing some Morning Glory in 'blue shades' this year, up canes and with blue shades of Petunia underneath and this container looks stunning

Lovely! I think the name comes from the fact that the flowers open in the morning and close up in the evening.

Bindweed has left me permanently traumatised by any Morning Glory type of plant.
2012 - Snow in February, non-stop rain till July. Blight and rot are rife. Thieving voles cause strife. But first runner beans and lots of greens. Follow an English allotment in urban France: http://roos-and-camembert.blogspot.com

I've grown "Granpa Otis" this year for the first time, going great guns.  :) It was a long time before i could bring myself to grow them, gave a plant to a friend them told her it was the bindweed family, i thought she was going to kill it on the spot.

It's a shame bindweed is such a thug as the large white flowers are rather beautiful - if it was an annual would probably be a bestseller.

betula

They are wonderful though :)

;D ;D...sorry, I should not laugh at your distress.. :-X

I know what you mean..I've got plenty of bindweed growing here too..it is the mother of all bindweeds  ::) Tough b**ch.
But even then..I do admit the big field bindweed flowers are lovely.
