My sweet peas are a complete week early this year , I usually cut chelsea flower show week but this year I cut the first few yesterday (13th). They were not too good but I wanted  a few for a raffle prize.

When I get old I don't want people thinking
"What a sweet little old lady"........
                             I want em saying
"Oh Crap! Whats she up to now ?"

I'm envious - mine are being very slow

I am going mad, trying to keep ours back to use in the garden shows. A couple of hours, every day nipping out the flower buds. They are quite tasty though. We have had them in salads and with pasta and a cheese sauce.

I,m growing Spencers Variety Charlies Angel for the show bench this year, Just had my first flower.

For cutting I grew some free Sweet Peas from one of the gardening weeklies and had just one so far.

When is your show ? I am going to layer mine soon so that I have them for the local show on June 18th if you let the flowers develope it slows the plants up a bit but do not let seed form as that will stop them too much.

It is not individual stems That I am after. It is the complete plants  that will be used (all 200 of them) that need to be in flower on the day of judging on june 14th. Then another batch on july 4th.
