I'm quite a keen fuchsia grower and regularly show these. I also assist with the running of our local horticulture show and I have noticed over the past few years there have been very few entries in the pinks section. To help support the show organisers I thought it would be nice if I could manage to put an entry or two together to enter, however I can't find anything on line to advise me how to grow show plants. If anyone can either give me some pointers or point me to an online guide I'd be grateful.

Pinks. As long as they are within the rules of the schedule they will be treated as any other flower.
Petals must be perfect as should be the whole plants. I show them either as a mixed floral display, or single pot plant grown from a cutting or seed.

Thanks Ben but really I'm after some technical details. For example with fuchsias I have to stop them every 2nd pair of leaves to get the best shape and you time your last stop to allow maximum number of flowers on the day.

What I need to know is things like do I only allow 1 shoot to develop per plant or do I allow them all to come? Is there any way of timing it to allow me the best chance of picking stems on the day. If anyone an help I would be grateful
