Well, someone on here said Lidl had seed strips, so rushed off to Lidl and looked and looked but it was only lettuce and other stuff I didn't really want, so had a couple of quid in my purse, so went to the 99p shop.  Nearly bought a rambling rose, and looked at all the lovely tubs with vegs/flowers on them and a small packet of seeds and soil, and thought I could buy a whole bag of compost and have packets of seeds at home, so went to lovely Morrisons to buy dinner, and had to have a look at the plants and seeds, and of course the gardening section is now there, but I think I am cured because I just went home with dinner (and a reduced bottle of wine, of course, and cat food), so I AM CURED.  Might try the toilet paper and seeds to make strips as I always plant too close together, do you think honey would be OK to stick the seeds onto the toilet paper.  No more shopping until pay day, end of the month, then maybe, a few more packets of seeds.

Oh Borlotti, don't worry, you're probably just having a bad day ;D ;D ;D ;D. Don't forget there is no cure just recovering & you can easily have a relapse ;).

I just wonder if my free train/bus pass will take me to Warrington, 8 packets for £1.00.  Sounds good to me, perhaps I am not completly cured. P.S. Where is Warrington???

manicscousers

between liverpool and manchester, Barotti, my mate got 3 lots of 8  :o
they had 4 tier mini greenhouses for 9.99, mind you, you do have to add vat so the seeds were actually 1.20, sorry  ;D

"Oh Crap! Whats she up to now ?"

Oh Lord, I was in Lidl - and they had the seeds out!  And I rummaged through - oh need some marigolds, oh and some nasturtiums. Hmm maybe I could try some more basil this year. Ah they have climbing beans - I could try those... And mixed flowers! A patch between the carrots and beets or next to the beans might look sweet and attract insect.
I ended up with at least 7 packets, 29c each...

And I had already bought my seeds over the Internet!

But now I really must control myself until next year.
2012 - Snow in February, non-stop rain till July. Blight and rot are rife. Thieving voles cause strife. But first runner beans and lots of greens. Follow an English allotment in urban France: http://roos-and-camembert.blogspot.com

Hmmm - they have a store in Nottingham and a day pass and voucher for March!  But can I hold out that long?

OH is going for a blood test tomorrow so if I can get up early enough we are going after the BT. Wonder if I can get up in time ;).

It's a fasting test so that's breakfast out to ;D ;D ;D.

Look what you've started Mal. Thank you :).

Tin Shed

As addictions go, I think seed addiction is pretty harmless...........anyway, thats the view I am going to stick with ;)

All you need is somewhere to store all those empty sweet tins full of seeds, a bit of compost, a few flowerpots, a watering can, wellington boots, spade, fork and trowel, gardening gloves, netting, fleece, bamboo canes etc, etc ,etc........................nothing wrong with that!

Actually, I rather like this addiction ;D

Borlotti

I only bought 4 packets of seeds, Morrison's own brand, for £2.  Just think of all the money I will save on cut flowers, having sweet peas, stock and cosmos.  Well the Fothergill seeds were much nearer and my food shopping came to over £30, so £2 isn't that bad, is it????  Have saved my own seed for sweet peas and they are coming up well in the protected front garden in a pot, but we will see which ones do better, can't live without sweet peas. Only lasted one day and am back again.  Too wet here to do much digging at the lovely allotment, withdrawal symptoms today.
