As a lefty, I find it offensive too! The alternative to the coalition was an unstable minority conservative government without the madate to make the unpleasant economic decisions needed keep Britain financially afloat. There would have been another general election within 12 months which the tories had already started saving for & Labour & LDs being skint. This would have given the tories a majority with the party members on the far right of the party having a stronger influence. With this coalition the nuttier/ideological elements of both parties are left out and we have something approximating what most people want.

So, what we got was the best possible outcome given the wishes of the country. I might not agree with most of what the tories say, but I have to accept that they got the most votes!

Haven't time to read it, but anyone who thinks themselves clever enough to magic us out of this hole should volunteer immediately!!
