But how many are still posting?

One that crossed my mind when I realised I had reached a hundred post last month having registered in May 2005. Great still to see so many old users who are like the trees but fascinating to compare with the annuals who appear in a burst of colour but then fade rapidly.

It certainly takes all sorts - so well done Dan.

Some of us old originals are still posting even if dead. But TGG?

I think I registered on the 21st September 2003, about six months after I had gotten an allotment. I wanted to talk to like minded people who had allotments, and was lucky enough to come across the ideal place (a4a) and met some lovely people, there were about 300 people on the board then.

Can you remember Ozzie was on the board then a really hippy eccentric character who seemed very intelligent and a warm charismatic sort of person, unless he had been on something.  Lots of things have happened over the years, but I keep coming back because there is nothing else as good, and it is so great to still see some old friend on here. So Well done Dan for keeping it going!

There were only two other people on the waiting list at our society in 2003. How things have changed we now have over 240 on the waiting list, and people are really desperate to get a plot, whereas I got one in one week.  :-* busy_lizzie xx

Hello Busy Lizzie, lovely to see you posting  :)  I remember Ozzie, used to brighten my day!  As you say there is nowhere like here and it is lovely to see how many people still pop in and lots of newer people too.  I have learnt so much from here  :)

Awwwwwww Ozzy, I had forgotten all about him.  Such a lovely guy.

Just checked and see I joined in October 2005. How come my plot is still in such a state after 5 years?

I remember joining just a little while before Supersprout died and the forum was all sad for a while. I  was asked if I could go to the funeral as I lived nearby .

We got lost on  the ring road in York, and  kept going round and round with me getting more and more heated as the coordinates kept taking us back to the wrong place. We finally asked where it was and almost made it  but saw a hearse leaving from the church as we arrived and  shouted to John"follow that hearse" we followed it right through to  the cemetary then  asked the driver of the hearse and it  was Supersprout in a magnificent wicker coffin. We were so embarrassed  to be late but we were assured  later that she would have laughed at the situation.

We met some other A4Aers there that day too. Good day, sad day.

God Bless Supersprout.

I have just looked i joined in August 2003 :o :o where did all that time go.

Yes i remember Ozzie, bit of a mixture, he emailed me a photo of himself he was sooooo different than we all imagined him to be.
A good  sparkling looking person,   Irishman, i always thought he was some sort of hippie.  He had a good heart though, shame about his drinking !!!.
