Here in the Tamar Valley it's been hot since the beginning of June, no rain at all.....and despite all the watering etc I am not going to complain after 3 atrocious summers in a row.  Sun....bring it on!!!!!

It's been that hot here that I managed to semi-melt down some beeswax in a glass bowl placed on a piece of black slate.

After a scorching hot and sunny day here in Dorset on Friday, yesterday was a little disappointing. cooler than expected and a lot of cloud. Still very warm and humid though, especially late pm when the skies looked pretty stormy. Nothing happened though. So much for the heatwave here! Managed to get much more done in the garden than expected too.

Today cooler and a but fresher. Still nice and warm, if cloudy again. All change overnight tonight. Rain and possible thunder forecast for southern england. Then an unsettled and cooler week ahead. I guess we need the rain but it has been nice to have some decent summer weather for a change.

If you want someone to blame, blame me. I put some 'emergency' shading up on my greenhouse on Friday. That's usually a signal for the weather to change! :o ;)

Just got back today from our caravan in the south Lake District, Went Friday afternoon, It started raining just North of Lancaster and was drizzling all day yesterday (Saturday) and this morning still raining with gale force winds, we should have stayed till Tuesday but were so miserable that we came home early only to find my garden in south Lancashire was still bone dry. No rain at all.
