This clump is getting bigger every year. The only problem is that it faces the wrong way because of trees casting shade near the front of my plot.

I could do with some of that alstromeria Betty. You shouldn't be keeping it all to yourself ;D I love flowers.
When I get old I don't want people thinking
"What a sweet little old lady"........
                             I want em saying
"Oh Crap! Whats she up to now ?"

I'll give you some when it finishes flowering Shirl.  The woman who gave it to me warned me it would spread but I like it so much that doesn't bother me.

Plants which spread are the right kind of plants! It looks lovely - daisies and foxgloves are an especially lovely mixture.

GrannieAnnie

Beautiful clumps you have there!

I planted some Crazy Daisy seeds this Spring and have lots of leaves- no buds or flowers.
The handle on your recliner does not qualify as an exercise machine.

Hi Betty I luv Alstromelia but they are so expensive, can I be really cheeky :-[ and ask if there is any chance of me sharing a little bit  - I would send postage stamps to cover delivery and perhaps there is something I could offer in return, I have some vivid yellow ones, now they really do spread, almost like weeds but I never seem to be able to get the root/tuber out as they are so deep, any way if there is anything else plants or seeds that you are looking for I would be really grateful.
It must be this hour of the day or something I would not usually ask!

Squash64

Susiebelle, yes of course you can have some, no problem.  You will have to remind me though.  :)

Cheers Betty. I could do with something to follow the aquilegia and the delphinium.

Many thanks Betty - I shall look forward to that.

Garden Manager

I've just bought some alstromeria. What sort of position/soil have you got yours in? Mines still in a pot at the moment because i cant find the best spot for it.

Thanks

PS Nice pictures.

It's in a fairly sunny position and the soil is very light and sandy.  It seems very easy to grow, I don't do a thing to it apart from supporting it with some sticks.  I haven't even watered it!
