'epicure' potatoes, and a few strawberries
You couldn't make it up!

Kelvedon wonder peas and those new potatoes ahhhmmmmm they are so scrumptious. Also a few red onions (bolting) and the last of the spinach. I also have a good pound of rhubarb waiting in the fridge.
2012 - Snow in February, non-stop rain till July. Blight and rot are rife. Thieving voles cause strife. But first runner beans and lots of greens. Follow an English allotment in urban France: http://roos-and-camembert.blogspot.com

artichoke

Last night 7 people ate snap and mangetout peas and broad beans, Charlotte potatoes (surprisingly large), bought pork slices cooked with own garlic, and a sort of strawberry cake.

This was made out of crushed biscuits that had been around rather a long time, mixed with melted butter and chilled; a mixture of creamy things that have been in the fridge for a bit (marscapone, Philadelphia, fromage frais, and a little sugar), laid on top of the biscuit; artistically arranged Gariguette strawberries laid on top of the creamy stuff; a jelly laid over the lot, made of strawberries and redcurrant jelly mixed with gelatin and strained. I chilled it to make sure it would set, then microwaved it soft again, and brushed it on in 3 or 4 successive layers.

Looked rather impressive and tasted delicious, considering it was mostly leftovers plus fresh strawberries.

We started with tiny potato pancakes decorated with bought things (smoked salmon, cream cheese) plus own basil leaves and asparagus tips lightly blanched.

Polytunnel ;D,  bit late this year but a massive set, some are 14-18 beans, Red rum, great for indoor growing and also a late crop.

My outdoors are flowering beautifully,  but only 'tiny worm' beans so far

Mortality

Lettuce, Potatoes and a raw pod of peas ;)
Please don't be offended by my nickname 'Mortality'
As to its history it was the name of a character I played in an online game called 'Everquest'
The character 'Mortality Rate' was a female Dark Elf Necromancer, the name seemed apt at the time and has been used alot by me over the years.
