is it just me or is there loads of ladybirds around at the moment?

I'd agree. I found one when im my loft yesterday and another on my keyboard several days ago.

Must be the warm weather, will they survive the cooler temps expected this week ?

sad i know but ive counted every one ive seen today and i got to 73 they are all over the place, but thats a good thing because they will keep the greenfly under control i hope :D

I am worried there are too many too early, I am sure I have never seen so many this early before, or am I imagining it??

Loads on the currant bushes today when I was weeding, mostly 6 spots though.

Anything wrong with 6 spoters ?

Now is good time to "borrow" few ladybirds from outside and give them "home" indoors...
In spring I always take few in and let them do their thingy.. ;) and soon there is lots of little "dragons" crawling all over muching unwanted aphids away....
by the time they are ready to hatch as new ladybirds greenhouse doors are open then for ventilations and they can have their well earned freedom..

...and I hardly ever have aphid problem indoors.. ;D ;)....

..by the way..no harm were done for any wildlife part from aphids...just to let you know.. ;D

There are always Ladybirds about in my office, which is on the second floor of an old Victorian house, and the windows have not been opened since last summer!

I've got lots too although sadly, they are mainly harlequins. :(  I did see a native yellow 14 spot yesterday tho' so that made my day. :)

what a good idea, I shall try to rehome a few in the greenhouse

They're just coming out of hibernation. If there are lots that's a good sign; there were very few this time last year after two bad summers.
