OK I will start with one of mine.. food on a plate.

I spend the first five minutes tidying the plate, some things must not touch and they all have to be in the right place, you should see me sort out peas and carrots. A gravy dribble has to be removed and I have a spare plate for  what I call my dead things  eg bones or other things that are not eaten, they have to leave the plate once the edible part is consumed.

A hamburger is murder, it has to be tidied inside and out before I can begin. Broken french fries and ones with  sharp points or edges have to be eaten first as they spoil the look of the plate and oh boy if a french fry has a black mark on it,it is condemned and sent to the dead plate.

Heaven help the waiter who brings me a plate of food with ornamental dribble round the edge, oh and the modern presentation when everything is piled on top of one another, both those need a clean plate to even begin to start.

As you might guess I order a lot of things "on the side"

When it is all done I proceed to enjoy my meal, usually just as everyone else is starting dessert.. lets not go into that!!

Come on now own up, I am not the only nut out there,

Now come on you didn't think we were gonna confess all on here did you? 8)

Two that immediately spring to mind; if I'm eating chicken, I can't eat the 'dark' parts, I have to separate them and put them on OHs plate (or if in a restaurant, onto a side plate) and I won't have a glass dried with a tea-towel if I'm about to use it, and I always smell them first.  My OH says I'm a freak! :o ;D

saddad

I think my OCD is totally absorbed by seeds... no doubt my OH thinks otherwise...  ;D

Digeroo

I hate touching hot food.  Watching TV chefs touching the food and arranging it on a plate completely puts me off ever going to a restaurant.  I also hate food mixed up.  I like each type separate on the plate and no gravy.  No stews or casseroles.

My oh has a washing up fetish he cannot do anything or go anywhere if there is washing up to be done.

But don't mention seeds, :P especially beans. :P

cornykev

I always sniff my food and to the OH's annoyance the little un does it as well now.  ;D ;D ;D

I plant seed varieties alphabetically, especially potatoes.... it's the only bit of my Asperger's symptoms I don't repress if I spot it, as long as you know the list of varieties you planted then you only need row markers..... it's odd cos I don't have OCD in anything else

I am terrible with not throwing bits and bobs away in case i will need it another time, i think i get it from my parents who were war kids and found a use for everything, it drives my hubbie up the wall and he secretly chucks things out when i am not looking. BUT....sometimes i do need something potentially useless i have kept and if it has been thrown, oh gosh i am stomping mad

At the allotments, I always wash and rinse cups before I use them.  I don't like to use what someone else has washed because they might not have rinsed it, and might have dried it with a dirty tea-towel.

I don't think that counts as an obsession though, not after reading Jeannine's list!

Yep, my first one-hoarding. I can't throw away anything the girls have made me or their dad.
I found 6 bags of old clothes of theirs ranging from baby to present day (10 yrs!) when I was packing to move that I had to sort into-friends kids, charity shop, car boot, keep, before I could part with them.

I am a relentless 'checker'-iron, straighteners, oven, before I go out.

Food- Gosh, so many! No-egg white, dark chicken, fatty bits on meat, pork; especially sausages (xmas sausies in bacon the exception) NO processed foods such as hotdogs (I cried at Brownie camp when all there was for dinner was tinned hotdogs and blancmange-wouldn't you?!)

Although housework not my top priority I have to have the girls uniform and lunches, book-bags etc ready and the living room vacced before I can sit down to chill in the evening.
Hotels: I must wash every cup and glass in the room and generally give everything the once over - having been a chambermaid I can tell you that most rooms are cleaned with the use of one dirty, used guest towel.
I struggle with hotel food and generally avoid them at all costs.
The Garden: As long as the tools are clean and in the right place I'm pretty easy-going here! Just starting a seed cupboard as I found a lovely old cupboard at a car booty with loads of tiny drawers, so that'll be the start of a new obsession.  ::)
Don't throw paper away. There is no away.

Washing on line in strict unvarying order, understood only by me. Mugs lined up in cupboard with handles all in exactly the same direction. Towels folded double then in thirds before stacking. Plantpots stacked in even towers, black separate from red of course. How long have you all got?

rosebud

I am a freak about clean hands, it all started when i was about 21, now it has taken over i cannot bear anyone to hand me a cuppa with the hands round the cup top where you drink  :o :o :o if it happens i let the drink go cold so i do not have to drink it. Just clean hands touching any food is a must weird, i know but there you are. Rinsing a glass before i use it is another thing, WHAT am i really mad.
Oh dear, i must confess another i have to handle ANY toilet doors with a handfull of toilet roll in public places obsesive or what, just found out very recently my brother does the same with public loos. I wonder why something happen when we were young i wonder!!!
They say there is more out than there is in  ;D ;D ;D.

All of the ornaments and things on my mantlepiece have to be in groups of 3 and in order of size.  I always polish my living room anti-clockwise and the kitchen has to be cleaned in a certain order, with different products depending on which bit I'm cleaning.

Strangely the one thing I don't sort out or obsess about is my seeds, I tried organising them once and I couldn't find a d**n thing!!!
What I lack in ability and experience, I make up for in sheer enthusiasm!!!

I have a thing about putting same colour pegs on an item when pegged on the line.

Oh I just love it, what have I started here!!

I can relate to so many of your "bothers" too but I must admit the coloured peg one was new to me,, now then who always opens a sandwich before they bite it.. hands up NOW!!

Best laugh I have had all day.. oh no , that is wrong as this is very serious stuff.

Oh yes and who also has Sleeping  With The Enemy" cupboards for their groceries..dare you....

Food - am very fussy, processed or school dinner-type food turns my stomach. Dislike most English food, fortunately this isnt so much of an issue as it was in the 70s!

And I make loads of lists. Have 4 separate xmas lists going at the mo: things to buy, things to bring, things to do, presents and cards... If anyone wants a ready-made list of things to take camping in every conceivable weather scenario, I'm your gal!
