Yup me too Jim! This November has seemed particularly miserable, never known it to be so constantly windy / rainy / grey.
Besides the new year brings the ski season  ;D  ;D  ;D

tomatoada

Also counting the days and thinking of making sure my onion bed is ready.  I believe it gets lighter quicker than it gets darker.   Tilt of the earth and all that.

Speaking of snow (ok, it's a weak link I know, lol) did I hear correctly on the radio today that some parts of the UK should be expecting snow next week?? How quickly it turns! :o (Ace will probably still be catching some rays in tropical IoW temperatures ...  :D)

speaking of potatoes, OK we weren't, but anyway, can someone tell me where I'll be able to get hold of a very small number of seed pots, just enough for one container?

Good Winter ??? now there's an oxymoron.  There's no such thing as a 'good' Winter. ;D

I'm another 'counting the days'.  Whilst I'm not a 'bah humbug' in relation to Christmas, it does mean we have passed the Winter solstice, and are working towards longer days.  Roll on the vernal equinox. ;D ;D

No ACE, it's not wishing your life away, it's what keeps gardeners young - always planning for next year.

IM SHURE A A4A MEMBER WOULD POST YOU A FEW IF YOU PAID THE POSTAGE

I just spent ages deciding what to order from a nursery in scotland- they do 5 tubers for £1.50, so I thought that was quite reasonable, until they added the postage!  I was thinking of  Nadine, then harvest them in August and plant Maris Peer to harvest in December. (We have a very small patio garden so can't have too much going on at once)£3 for the tubers and £5.95 for postage.  I've discovered that there's a Potato Day near Durham in January so I might try that instead.
