I sowed some mustard asa green manure at the end of September but hadn't got round to chopping it down. When I went today something (pigeons?) had stripped all the leaves off. I chopped the rest down and dug it in but was wondering, is the goodness in the leaves? If so, guess I've wasted my time and effort!

Not completely wasted... in terms of biomass there is a lot of nutrients tied up in roots and stem...  :)

Thanks for the warning.  Mine is just getting up to the size that the pigeons prefer.

mustard is also a member of the cabbage tribe, and not recommended if you got club-root on site. ;)
You couldn't make it up!
