After a couple of weeks of wondering it`s been confirmed that Mrs Cleo does have cancer. It`s her tounge and scans to date show it`s localised.

I know I am not the first here to either have been there themselves or had a partner with it but just now it`s just a wee bit scary

So sorry to hear that cleo.  Hopefully as it's localised, it's been caught early and treatment will be straightforward and successful.  Very best wishes for you and Jenny.

Cleo. My thoughts are with you and  Mrs Cleo. May I just tell you.. my daughter-in-laws brother has made a full recovery with the same cancer. He had treatment for some time but is now back at work. There are so many on A4A sending you both loving and healing vibes,  I would like to add mine.

Cleo,
Take each day as it comes, and if things get to much then a good ear is hear to talk over the problems and concerns you have. Talk to the nursing staff as they are a great help when you have no one else to ask.
I am thinking of you both and hope that all goes well with the treatment.
Take each step and listen to what they have to say. Do not be afaid to say no at any point. I found that if you speak up they will listen and find ways to ease and calm any fears.
Be well and smile. It goes a long way.
I am  :-[ to know what else to say to help you through this troubled time.

Got them back now to put some tread on them

Wishing her & you the very best... it's a horrible time.

Just to totally agree with this, for helping speech and can also help swallowing/chewing. Wishing you both all the best.

So sorry to hear about the diagnosis, but hope the treatment goes smoothly for her.

I found it very helpful to take a tape recorder in when hearing what the doctor was going to say about my surgery and after care.  It is impossible to take it all in even though we try hard to listen and it helped immeasurably to be able to listen again to the tape in the quiet of home. Also it helped to take in a written  list of all  questions and having the doctor address them one by one.  Also, if other questions come up later at home one can always call the doctor back and get answers rather than letting questions simmer.

Cancer treatment has come a long way. We hope for the best outcomes for her treament, Cleo.

Thanks everyone-your thoughts mean a lot to us.

Speech and eating are a bit difficlt for Jenny just now but she can still work a little bit and we are becoming experts at making adult baby food :).

As regards Mr Boycott I believe that was throat cancer and he talks a lot more sense now than he used to ;D
