Two inches of much needed rain early in the week, has given way to more sun and warmth. Plants are loving it.

Digeroo

We were promised heavy rain yesterday.  It is desparately needed.  Apart from a few odd showers we have only had two lots of rain since I stated my alloment in March.

We only got such a very little amount last night.  Been out in the garden to look, it did not get more than an inch down, certainly nowhere near the roots, dry as a bone down there.

A little while ago the sky was full of cloud now it is a gorgeous sunny morning.

I'm only a few miles from you Digeroo in Swindon and we must be getting your share here its done nothing but rain.  It was raining when I left work at 6ish last night and still chucking down at 10.30 when I went to bed.  The suns shinning brightly at the moment   ;D ;D

Digeroo

We are in some kind of rain shadow.  Not sure if it is caused by runway of RAF Fairford or the lakes of the waterpark.  It often rains in Swindon, Cirencester and Burford and not here.

Often go to Swindon and Evesham and you can almost paint a line on the road where the rain stops.

We had drizzle last night and a couple of heavier bursts, but not more than 1/4 inch in total.

If you have my share please could you give it back. ;D ;D ;D

cornykev

Warm with sunny spells, after night and early morning rain.  ;D ;D ;D

I think we got your share not long ago, Digeroo, when we had the worst flood since I don't know when. You can have it if you'll replace all the damaged crops.

Digeroo

We certainly had our share last year.  Loads of houses around here were flooded.

It must be very upsetting to see all your hard work washed away or just rot into a sticky mess.

My plot is on a slope so half ok, but I am told that the rest fills up in the winter.  Everyone turned down the plot because it was under water.  When I started digging it in March this part was very squelchy indeed.   I shall not be putting any winter veg down in that area.

Ninnyscrops.

Absolutely teeming down now in our part of West Sussex!

Lovely weather in south Birmingham.

So its very raised beds for you digeroo.

Just stopped raining in Swindon, sun peeping through at moment but can see more clouds in the distance.   Probably won't get any better till I'm in work Fri/sat.
Then the sun shines fit to burst. ::) ::)
Our plots are the same Digeroo.  The top ones a just a little bit higher and don't suffer the same.  I've put raised beds on the ones that get water logged and this seems to have done the trick. ;D ;D
