fingers crossed, everyone..we got away with the leaf curl and there were just enough bees to pollinate them, only about 3/4 per tree  ;D

I've netted my nectarine tree with its eight fruit to keep the birds from using the tree as a stop on their way to the bird feeders - fingers crossed they ripen!

Slugs are my biggest pest on my Nectarine tree.  Normally start off with about 25 fruit but after the slugs I get left with about 10.

Every year I debate the use of the greenhouse space for the tree but when I taste just one fruit I know I'm right.

I hand pollinate in Feb with a paintbrush.
Best laid plans and all that

I've used grease this year to stop the ants taking the flamin' aphids up, maybe that will stop the slugs too, unless they can parachute  ;D

No but they are good at abseiling...  ;D

Garden Peach and Nectarine both completely leaf-curled so no fruit. Garden cherries all eaten already by the blackbirds - you'd think they'd wait until they were a bit riper.  >:(

my poor peach is terribly curled too, is there anything to do for next year?? i tried bordaux mixture painted onto the emerging leafs but no luck.  ??? gg x

My nectarine with the fruit on it is also horribly affected with leaf curl. I sprayed with Dithane last Autumn but it didn't help. So far the fruit seems unaffected. Fingers crossed!! I have another nectarine with no fruit which is completely free from leaf curl and looking very healthy.

Which reminds me Barnowl... I still haven't netted my cherries for the summer...  :-[
