Have such a lot from skips that may be useful ;D

Here is a small selection.Metal gate.Wooden gate post.Old watering cans,do not really need them but can not leave them alone.What have you got from the skip?

old fashioned bread tins - put my mint in it ;)

everything the old boys throw out looks lovely on my plot ;D / shades x

I got a Terrex Autospade out of one on Monday.... seems a bit rusty but serviceable :-)

A large bookcase that made 3 raised beds, a wooden CD tower that I use for seed packets, a couple of manky scaffolding planks and enough wood from the building site next door to make an arch for my beans.

nothing :( not for lack of looking though.

hey lewic your plots is coming along great :) i remember when you got it last year.

got all windows out of skips when the local coucil changed the windows

in our street.

the wood from skip local building site,surplus after the houses where built.

got the flags from skips as  well

I live next door to a double glazing shop, they throw a lot away but I am not clever enough to build greenhouse and don't have the room, banned on our allotments.  Still will ask for small glass for cold frames.  If anyone travels by bus go upstairs and then you have a better view of skips and what is in them, can then jump about in excitment and stop the bus at next stop, only trouble is without a car difficult to carry it home.  Seen some lovely almost dead plants in skips that only need a bit of water and loving care.  There is money in junk as someone once told me, it is amazing the things people throw away.  Took all the towels out of my son's skip as they were the wrong colour to match his new bathroom.  They were almost brand new, agree an awful colour, but still using them now.

Two wrought iron gates for the garden, a wheelbarrow, some wire netting fencing, loads of different tools and plant pots & trays.

Both my partner & I are real skip rats!!     ;D

Gardentg I love your greenhouse. I am starting to wonder if I could build something myself, it looks way stronger than anything you could buy.

a bathroom suite, grew mint in the toilet, lavender in the sink and made a pond out of the bath..mesh netting(prison type), trouble is, it's too big to fit into the car to get to the plot..guttering for peas, drainpipes for the shed..just rescued a wicker children's chair, the cover was mucky but it's lovely  ;D

This was 2 single beds at the weekend,

the slats where held together with ribbon,

i made the staging and suspended it on chains,

so it folds down flat when not in use.

was just the right width 2ft 6ins so no sawing.

done and dusted in 20 mins.

wanted a play house for the grandchildren,
been looking on ebay &freecycle.

then i saw one in a skip on Friday.
took it home stained it ,new felt,and transformed it into this.

at a total cost of £23 ;)

well gardentg44 you are a professional skip rat. And as for Manics and her bathroom suite. ;D

that is such a good idea for greenhouse staging, especialy collapsible like that. you're a genius.  :)

Wow, I'm impressed! There seem to be lots of skips around our area at the moment. My calls for a skip dipping session fall on deaf ears. OH just rolls his eyes  ::). I'm not quite brave enough to go on my own.

I found a nearly full pack of laminate flooring which is now installed in the grown-up wendy house ;D but nothing like those finds............WOW

Oh ' I will not be able to pass a skip now. ;D

I am a new poster here, learned lots already such as the dumpy bags (so proud of my first one) and the wilkos rose arches yet to put on the allotment. I have not yet tried skip diving - do you peeps ask permission of the owner before liberating goodies or just go for it?

I normally ask just to be on the safe side. :)
