Red cabbage, from the allotment,  pickling in white wine and cider vinegar for Christmas night with cold cuts and boxing day with bubble and squeak!

I am glad I read your message EJ.  I wanted to make some of the same and wondered whether to pickle with white vinegar or what ! LOL

Or just use it raw to colour up your salads - or cook like any cabbage?

No need to pickle or cook with appple & wine etc. = Tim

We love red cabbage in our household.  I cook it very often with lots of apples and a little sugar !

Mrs Ava

I have some to cook also, but I am alone in liking it! No suprise there in this household!  Tis delicious with apple and makes a great coleslaw with shredded white cabbage, grated carrot and grated apple and a sprinkle of walnuts  YUMSKY!

ooh - yummy. I love red cabbage - pickled or raw are the best. I've a feeling I might be growing a few in 2006. No room next year in my Inn! ;)
