Should November planted garlic have bulbs now?

Hi All,

I accidentally knocked over one of my garlics today and pulled it out to have a look - it just looked like an overgrown spring onion and smelled of garlic.

It was planted in November so should it have formed a bulb/cloves?

If so any ideas why it wouldn't have?

Thanks
Liam
Keep getting worried that the stuff I grow will taste nasty - or turn out poisonous!

I have about a dozen or so garlic plants that have resulted from a couple of heads that went to seed from last year .   Since they seem to be happy and are only using space I'd otherwise use for bonfires, I''m tempted to let them grow until the leaves die down  and see what results.

I suppost you could  find novel uses for your spring-onion-like  plants - but I think I'd suggest you give them at least until the leaves  start to wither.

Ninnyscrops.

They will probably have cloved inside the bulb, and will gradually swell over the next few weeks

pulled one of mine planted in september it was just one medium sized clove   so well just leave them in longer .... should you wait till the  tops start to die of ?....n8r  ;D

They always look like spring onions this time of year. The bulb forms in the last few weeks before they die back.

are you saying you grew them from seed? if yes when did you sow them?
