Jet wash.  My Halfords Power Washer is brilliant.  It cleaned all my drive paving to look like new.

..or strong solution of household bleach and a stiff broom. I would have thought a power washer a bit severe for wood?

As decking is pressure treated with preservative I was just wondering if a pressure washer would be strong enough to remove the protective surface after a while?

Quotebleach is good

Bleach is bad and so are all who promote its use outdoors.

Jetwashers will clean algae effortlessly without the use of any chemicals. Wet the area, have a cuppa then blast it.

Robert_Brenchley

If you absolutely must use a chemical, use peroxide, which breaks down to water and oxygen. Don't use chlorine bleach.

Agree with Robert, but back to the OP....you don't have a pressure washer? My advice is to buy one. This prob will come back year on year & it's time consuming & b. hard work with a stiff broom :-[..last year I had a client with the same prob & I Googled the possible solutions. All the best involved using a pressure washer at some point & we got just the job from Aldi, tho Argos were also doing a good deal, so it pays to shop around on-line? The pressure washer she bought has done SO much service in other areas also (and passed round her rels!)....concrete steps/paths/slabs...and it will be used year-on-year. A good investment 8)

I would recommend Armillatox.  If you go to website armillatox.com you will be given the dilution rates to kill moss.

No not heard that, in fact I don't think it will.

A treatment against moss is sulphate of iron, which is effective.  But on paving (and probably decking) will turn the decking/paving brown (aka rust).

I would have to say the pressure washer is probably the best option.

Armillatox works well on our patios and my wooden GH frame.

I like moss, I'd leave it unless it's slippy!
