raised beds

OH has finished making raised beds and has added a couple of bags of mushroom compost to them all, the questions is should we be adding anything else to them planning on growing  carrots, onions, garlic, lettuce, mixed salad leaves in them but not sure if mushroom compost was the best for all these.

we'd stick some chicken manure pellets in, rake over just before we planted the plants  :)

We use a lot of mushroom compost.  It's a good all round soil conditioner and fertiliser.  Provided the soil and compost mix can be raked to a good tilth, I'd go ahead and plant as is.

Of course you may need to feed growing crops later as they mature.

Don't grow brassicas in Mushroom compost....it can cause club root
