A browser with a built in ad blocker would 'fix your problem'

I don't see a single ad on this website (sorry Dan  :-*)

But surely taking an extra 2 seconds to scroll up the page is no big deal really?

Sorry, but it is when you have to do it on every thread.

So what browser and ad blocker do you have that fixes the problem?

Hi Ceres,  I use Maxthon with a built in blocker.  I am also having to scroll from the bottom to the top but luckily without the ads :)

I'm just used to going straight to the last post I looked at. When you use the site a lot it is just plain irritating to have to keep scrolling back to find the last post you read all of the time. It isn't consistent, some (most) posts it does it, some not, it appears to be linked to particular ads like the shed. In the big scheme of things it isn't a big deal I agree, but if it could be fixed, why not ask?

If you are having to scroll up as well, it looks like blocking the ads won't solve the problem either........DAN!!!!!! HELP!

I never look at the adverts, but it is starting to irritate me now.  Why land at the bottom of a thread?   I realise now I have been doing it for some time now but just accept things.  It is annoying.

i dont see the ads either, sorry dan (but i do pay my subs and spend on amazon)
i dont mind 'having' to scroll up but i can never find where i should be, thats the whole point of clicking on new surely?

when I open up a page, (I use firefox) I right click and choose "open link in new tab" it then opens to the top of the page, not the bottom.

And not enough people have complained.  I don't beleive that Dan reads many threads so he probably hasn't seen this one.  He pops up when his inbox has been flooded with complaints.

Ceres, you sound like you're coming over a bit harsh abt Dan - just the way I'm reading it, like... :-\ Dan isn't a paid full-time salaried moderator here, like the Beeb peeps are, f'rinstance,  and it's been my experience that he's always been on the ball to do what's been necessary when he's been around...give the guy a chance, eh, or at least the benefit of the doubt?

I answered a question with my opinion on what the answer might be.  You think it's harsh, that's your opinion.  We're all entitled to express our opinions  ;)

Not as many problems. Still doing it sometimes, though.
