How many of us bought stuff from Amazon for Christmas prezzies?

And how many used the A4A link to Amazon?  I believe (Dan will confirm, please) that A4A make a small percentage from the sale.  (Just click on "shop" at the top of the A4A page and you're in Amazon).  Yesterday I made my son buy a camera this way, so I hope a few pence will trickle through to the site funds.

tis true, every Amazon purchase made through the shop gets a percentage for A4A.

Does that work for the links on the page e.g. two wests & elliott etc or just if you go thru' the shop?

tonybloke

Just spent best part of 100 quid on books (art books mainly, for O.H. who's taking  B.A. in fine art)
Do we get discount membership, Dan?  ;)  ;D ;D ;D

Hi Dan,

tried to order through the link, but it keeps jumping to my personal account as soon as I put something in my shopping basket.

Also, some books "can not be purchased through this store" (in this case a book on birding in New York).
I remember reading in other posts on A4A that it was possible to purchase all items on Amazon, not just gardening books, through the link. Am I mistaken or has something changed?

I think I ordered through the A4A link last week. Garjan,if it's like going through the Nectar site, it does go to your personal account but will still register that you've come through A4A so Dan should get something for the site. Is there any way of checking, I wonder?

I tried to order through the link and it didn't have what I wanted, when I went straight on to Amazon I had a wider choice and the item I wanted was there.   ???        ;D ;D ;D

If I go through the A4A link and it shows as not being available, I go back to Amazon, copy the exact title of the item and bring it back to the A4A page and paste it in.  That's always worked for me.

Admin aka Dan

Blimey - thanks all!

To give you all an idea of the amount ordered / money raised,

Month                Ordered         Raised
December          GBP   11.29   GBP   0.87
January (so far) GBP 409.56   GBP 27.56

As you can see the 'publicity' from this thread has raised quite a bit (not enough to cover hosting costs, but the adverts contribute to that).

Cheers

Dan

Oh and in the shop if you click the 'powered by Amazon' logo under the search box then you will be taken to Amazon, and anything purchased in that session is recorded against Allotments4All.

littlebabybird

Hi Dan, sorry, does this include pre orders as well?

Cheers Dan, because I still haven't ordered what I'm looking for and there may be a bit of a rush of purchases on here Dan what with my birthday coming up.    ;D ;D ;D        :-*
