Can anyone recomend a really good website or a good book. I have been a diabetic for a while now but i still do not know enough about it .
I am so fed up of having these "wobblers " as i call them they are really bad sometimes i almost pass out like today out shopping it really does get on my nerves, i have cereal for brekkie & go out shopping then crash, i am so scared of just passing out it is begining to worry me big time.

Since i was diagnosed D, no one has actually said the do`s & dont`s well i know not to eat sugar & take the tabs 5 a day. so any info from another diabetic will be gratefully accepted. i have been a D, for a long time i mught add. Thank you.

Sorry to hear you are having problems, have you looked at this website?

http://www.diabetes.co.uk/index.html

Your local hospital should have a team of dedicated diabetes staff who would be happy to give advice, have you been there?

ray's on diet only and he uses the low gi diet little and often, seems to keep his sugars level, hope you get sorted soon  :-\
www.the-gi-diet.org/lowgifoods
he has porridge with banana for brekkie, something, maybe an apple or a couple of rich tea biccies or toast, wholemeal, at 11..soup and a roll for lunch, snack at 3 and a really good tea, about 6..even some rice krispies at 9..he's not as bad as you, though

My sil from my first marriage was diabetic (type1 and injects insulin). She always carried some tea biscuits or digestives with her and if she felt funny she'd find a seat and nibble on a biccie till she felt better.

Rosebud, your GP should be able to help you with this. Go and see him as you shouldn't be feeling this worried and unwell.
In many GP practices the practice nurse will be running special diabetic clinics, if not there will be a service provided by your local hospital. In our area the community diabetic nurses run drop in clinics as well.
Are you checking your blood sugar regularly to see whether you are becoming hypo/hyperglycaemic - low or high blood sugar? This will indicate if your medication and diet are working.

Must day, I'm v.v.surprised that you're not in 'the System' Buds...did you attend any diabetes clinic where you were before you moved? Here, all of my laydees who have diabetes, be it Type 1 or 2, either have regular appts. at their clinics or regularly see the practice nurse at their GP's surgery. And there are loads of hand-outs at the reception desk. Again, really surprised that there seems to be zilch back up your way.

Time you kicked up a fuss ;) ;D

"Well I had half a rich tea biscuit three days ago, I don't know why I feel all wobbly"

Type 2 diebetes

As said no sugar not just in your tea/coffee but chocolate biscuits etc sweets, white bread delivers sugar to your body fast so use brown/wholemeal bread it delivers it slowly cut down on your fat intake fat turns to sugar , i was told after a meal  walk briskly for a half hour to burn of excess, being at work does this for me
again as said eat little and often, and if you can do every thing advised , your doing better than me.

lol keep taking the tabs

Samantha, i do eat you know that how comes if you think i do not that i am so overweight, your gonna get it girl.

Just going now to have a mega meal & dessert ok :( :( :( :(.
Mrf94, i do all that you mentioned, but i cannot walk more than 50yds anymore so that rules out a brisk walk. I just have these bad wobbler whatever.
Lish, the Diabetic nurse should be ringing me tomorrow, my brother has a good book he said i can have so that will help.
Thank you peeps for your helpfull advice  Rosebud.
