Allotments 4 All

Have ripped out all my toms, peppers etc from my unheated greenhouse, and thoughts now turn to my overwintering mixed lettuce leaves, which are growing nicely in seed trays! (Mizuna,Red Kale,miners lettuce etc.)
Am presuming that the soil requires some sort of fertiliser for them, what would you suggest a dressing of? Chicken pellets, BF&B,well rotted manure, or leave well alone? Thanks DP

Without, as usual, any know-how, I would tend to let them be.
Even BF&B is 50% N, & you don't want soft growth with the chill coming?

So - I would let them get away, & give a little liquid fert if they seem to need it.

But Cleo ( amongst others) is bound to have a professional view on this? = Tim

I have done the same D_P got rid of everything and put the mixed leaves in the borders, they have been in about 2 weeks and they are growing nicely, and i haven't put anything in the beds.
But there again my beds are 2 blocks high so i don't know if that would make any difference.

Thanks for that Tim and Peter, think I shall just shove them in without anything! I did wonder if feeding them at this time of the year was a bad idea because of the soft growth!

No feeding here-but I do dig the beds out and replace with  fresh compost.
