Beauties Tim.  Can hardly wait to see how my Maris Piper are doing.

Beginning to think I dug up my maincrops too early, given that some of you haven't done yet- but since they were full of holes I doubt it would have been worth waiting.

I'm lifting as needed. Had to cut them down because of blight or they might well have grown more. The haulms were tall & lush.

Thankfully, very little slug damage this year - despite the wet.

Our Picasso we dug out at the weekend were huge too!  ;D

Like this - Picasso??

But " susceptible to slug damage"??

Nice spuds... I got 12kg from an 18' row of Cara this year, don't know if that's good but there were hardly any tiddlers and no blight at all. Better still they taste like spuds, so definitely on the list for next year (4th year running).

'Tis said that you can expect 20lb from a 10' row.

Our return is poor this year because we had to terminate in face of blight.

jonny211

In my metric mind that's 9kg from 10' row.... so that's 16.2kg from an 18' row.

Ah well, not quite there this year - maybe more manure required for 2009?

saddad

We dug in some Manure to the Pot bed this year and have been rewarded by Potatoes the size of house bricks!!  :o

I don't peel many of mine Tim, a quick scrub and a blast in the microwave and straight in the oven whatever size, I had a quick ferkle at my maris pipers yesterday Twinkle and they are looking good but I still have a row and a bit of kestrels to dig up yet.  ;D ;D ;D
MAY THE CORN BE WITH YOU.
