I have removed the haulms from my rows of potatoes due to the onset of blight. I intend to bag the potatoes in some hessian sacks but the extremely wet weather has me thinking should I remove the wet soil before bagging? because I don't think it is ever going to be dry again this year!

Yes, they need to be dry before storing. I had mine lying on newspaper in my shed and kitchen for a couple of days!

Thanks caroline7758, I shall bring them up in buckets and dry them before bagging and keep my fingers crossed ! :) :)

I trust that you left them 3 weeks before lifting?

Hi Tim, the majority are still .in the ground, why three weeks?

To allow the blight spores to be inactive by the time you dig the tubers out, so that you don't infect them as you dig them out...  :)
