About time too.  My OH has pulled my first success at carrots.  Early Nantes from  container growing.  She says they are about 4" long.  Is this right for this variety?

I've not grown them but that sounds reasonable to me...  :-\

Tee Gee

They are a 'stump rooted' variety so 4" seems OK to me.

If you leave them they get bigger but not better!

Need a Leek

I am going to lift all my Early Nantes this weekend and start sowing Autumn King's for a winter crop.

I've actually got some carrots growing for the first time, in dustbins. If I don't thin them, will I still get some decent size carrots? I'm so pleased to have successful germination that I can't bear to pull any of them up!

It will depend upon how close they are together.
