Why has my site for a weather forcast  "metcheck" changed to easy space.  Can anyone recommend a good site for weather info..   Thanks.

I looked at Metcheck a few days ago and the home page was there but none of the forecast pages.  The message on the home page said they were upgrading the servers from 9pm the previous night (Monday or Tuesday?).

Glad its just not me, thought it was funny.

grawrc

It seems to be ok now with all new shiny servers.

I can't understand why websites need to be offline for such long periods for updating. I manage several domains and never take them down to update. I just use FileZilla to upload the new pages each month (overwriting the previous page with that title). I have never known my host servers to be down, they work 24/365(6). One host server is based in Germany, I haven't found out where the other one is. The only time one of my domains has been down was my own error (well! anyone can do it).

Have you got a new url for them grawrc?  I'm still getting the easyspace domain registration page?

grawrc

No I simply clicked on my existing link. www.metcheck.com seems to work.

Fine now??

"The early weekend outlook isn't much better so look away now if you were hoping for some heat, BBQ weather and an all round perfect mid-July weekend. Instead we are expecting a cold front to sweep down across all parts during Saturday introducing a cool and rather chilly northerly flow. By Sunday morning minimum temperatures could be as low as +4C or +5C across the North!...Yes it really is July, honest!... "

grawrc

a better prognosis for Edinburgh I'm glad to say although not really the temperature you'd expect for July.

Odd, not working for me.

At the risk of teaching grandmother, have you tried refreshing the page - your browser may be reading from the cache.

I emptied the cache barnowl and also tried to get to it from a variety of different routes but it was still out - I think grawrc was actually getting it from cache that day.  I checked again a couple of days back and it's there now.

Long way round to get to the BBC!  Prefer Metcheck myself.
