Hi All,
can anyone recommend a climbing french bean that can be sown now through to July? I have a variety called the prince growing and have just realised they are a dwarf variety, bought them as plants with poor labeling! :'(

hi, android, welcome to the site  ;D

Blue Lake & Cobra come to mind.

Although Cobra seems to fare better under cover in my part of the world. (polytunnel/greenhouse)

Blue Lake are pretty good. Based on last year, I think Cobra develop a bit faster. I'm trying Blauhilde this year - a purple climber, has clmibed well and now flowering, but can't vouch for the end result.

Thanks 'TG' , I'm in the south east so shouldn't be too much of a problem.
I've got an old packet of Blue lake somewhere may give them a go soon, or might try cobra.

I always use Blue Lake and it has never failed me.  Good Luck

I grew cobra last year (bought plants from GC) they were quite productive despite attacks from slugs (which wiped out my dwarf ones completely) and being windswept.  This year i have sown my own cobra but half didn't germinate those that did have produced lovely strong plants. I have just sown some more tonight but at home in pots not into the ground. They taste good too.

Welcome to the site android.

My favourite climbing french bean is Fasold.  I also have a variety called Sultana.  Having bought both from Moles Seeds, I have enough to send you a sample, if you would like.

I don't think it is quite too late to sow.  If you PM me your address I could have them in the post by Monday.
